‘Archives II’ is the second installment in the Archives-series by MM Works - a compilation of recordings made at The Royal Danish Academy of Music from 2016 through 2020.

The album is the follow-up to the 2020 release ‘Archives I’, which was well received and written about in The Wire Magazine: ”Simple instrumental tracks, with gentle acoustic picking shadowed by slowly drifting waves of feedback, not unlike the work of Loren Connors or the soundtracks Jim Jarmusch and Carter logan create as Sqürl…”

Copenhagen-based MM Works roams in a delicate balance of structure and freeplay, avant-garde and modern composition. The music often follow two inseparable paths: a repetitive element, and a seemingly loose improvisation on top. The focus point is left open, but with a constant cohesion throughout the elements of both structure, interplay and sonic palette. The repetitive is seldom symmetric, and the asymmetry seems well guarded by a free flowing synergy, shiftingly unafraid of silence and letting loose.

A full-length version of 'Flycatcher' is included as a bonus track when purchasing the album.

'Archives II' is released on A Quiet Room Recording on March 4th, digitally as well as on limited edition cassette tape.
